GST: Everything you want know about One Nation One Tax

As the nation prepares for the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1st July 2017 midnight, the government has prepared a FAQ sheet based on several questions it received on Twitter.
Here is a summary of some the most frequently asked questions and their answers:
 What is Goods and Services Tax?
  • It is a destination based tax on consumption of goods and services. It is proposed to be levied at all stages right from manufacture up to final consumption with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. In a nutshell, only value addition will be taxed and burden of tax is to be borne by the final consumer.
The GST would replace the following taxes:
1. Taxes currently levied and collected by the Centre:
  1. Central Excise duty
  2. Duties of Excise (Medicinal and Toilet Preparations)
  3. Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance)
  4. Additional Duties of Excise (Textiles and Textile Products)
  5. Additional Duties of Customs (commonly known as CVD)
  6. Special Additional Duty of Customs (SAD)
  7. Service Tax
  8. Central Surcharges and Cesses so far as they relate to supply of goods and services
2. State taxes that would be subsumed under the GST are:
  1. State VAT
  2. Central Sales Tax
  3. Luxury Tax
  4. Entry Tax (all forms)
  5. Entertainment and Amusement Tax(except when levied by the local bodies)
  6. Taxes on advertisements
  7. Purchase Tax
  8. Taxes on lotteries, betting and gambling
  9. State Surcharges and Cesses so far as they relate to supply of goods and services

Mia Khalifa also known as Mia Callista. Born on February 10, 1993, in Beirut, Lebanon and moved with her family to the United States in 2000is a Lebanese American social media personality and webcam model, best known for her successful, albeit brief, career as a pornographic actress.

This is where the Great Wall of China ends


Have you ever wondered the longest and biggest ancient architecture i.e. the great wall of china is 21,196.18 km (13,170.7 mi).

The Great Wall of China was built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi Huangdi, the first emperor of Chin.

It is believed that it took over 20 years to built the Wall.

In Chinese the wall is called "Wan-Li Qang-Qeng" which means 10,000-Li Long Wall (10,000 Li = about 5,000 km).

Fastest & Quickest to score 8000 ODI runs: Virat Kohli

Indian captain Virat Kohli unbeaten knock of 96 against Bangladesh in the semifinals of the Champions Trophy on Thursday help him to became the fastest cricketer to score 8000 runs in ODIs.

India captain Virat Kohli has become the quickest batsman to 8000 runs in one-day international cricket, beating AB de Villiers mark by seven innings. Kohli crossed the 8000-run mark in his 175th innings while AB de Villiers took 182nd innings.

The unbeaten knock of Virat 96* & Rohit Sharma 123* helped India to register a comfortable win against Bangladesh in the semifinals of the Champions Trophy here.

This was Kohli's 42nd ODI half-century & Rohit Sharma 11th ODI century.

Kohli, who came into the match with 88 needed to score 8000 runs, to reach the milestone.
Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan also became India's highest run-getter in the Champions Trophy, surpassing Ganguly's haul of 665 runs.

He also became the first batsman to score 300+ runs in two different editions of ICC Champions Trophy -- 2013 and 2017 respectively.

Virat Kohli Only Indian in Forbes 2017 List of Highest-Paid Athletes

Cricket captain Virat Kohli is the sole sportsperson from India to feature among the world's 100 highest paid athletes in the latest Forbes list, topped by football star Cristiano Ronaldo


Kohli, 28, has been ranked 89th on the 2017 Forbes list of 'The World's highest paid athletes' with a total pay of USD 22 million that includes USD three million from salary and winnings, and another 19 million from endorsements.

Describing Kohli as the "Indian cricket phenom", Forbes said the sports star has "for good reason" already drawn comparisons to all-time great Sachin Tendulkar.



The list has been topped by Ronaldo with a total pay of 93 million dollars. American basketball star LeBron James comes in at the second spot with USD 86.2 million, followed by Argentine footballer Lionel Messi (3) with 80 million, tennis star Roger Federer (4) with 64 million and American basketball player Kevin Durant.

The list that features athletes from 21 countries and 11 sports had Serena Williams(51) as the lone female athlete with $27 million.
The earnings figures include salaries, prize money and bonuses earned between June 2016 and June 2017.
