World's Biggest Lockdown #StayHomeStaySafe

The number of people suffering from the disease in India touched 11,555 & deaths topped 396 as on 15th April 2020 @ 02:00PM (IST), according to Worldometer.

#StayHomeStaySafe: The extended nationwide lockdown in India is now referred as the world biggest lockdown in order to  prevent the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The lockdown that came into effect on March 25 was to expire on midnight of April 14.


PM Narendra Modi extended the coronavirus lockdown in India until 3rd of May and will also keep a keen eye on hotspots, possible hotspots and prevent the spread of creation of new hotspots. The Prime Minister also pointed out Seven things that will help in curbing the Coronavirus spread that every Indian has to follow during the lockdown.

For the next one week, India will enforce stricter measures to contain the virus. Only those districts which are able to manage to stay coronavirus free, may see some easing of restrictions after April 20, but PM Modi warned that if a case comes up after the rules are easened, then a complete lockdown will be enforced again.

"Till April 20, each police station, each district, each state will be monitored closely to see whether the lockdown is being followed and if that area has saved itself from the virus"

Worlds Biggest Lockdown: As the lockdown has been extended in India for another 19 days till May 3 is now one of the longest lockdown in the world, PM Narendra Modi asked the fellow countrymen to follow seven things that will help in curbing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Here is the list of seven things that PM Narendra Modi asked the people of India to do:

1. Maintain Hygiene
  • Keep your faces covered, homemade face-covers and masks without fail, etc...
2. Take care of the elderly
  • Take special care of the elderly, especially those with chronic disease. They should be protected from coronavirus infection
3. Take care of the poor
  • As much as possible, take care of the economically weaker sections
4. Employer-employee relation
  • To be sensitive as an employer towards your employees
5. Respect Corona Warriors
  • 'Pay utmost respect to our nation's 'Corona Warriors' -- our doctors and nurses, sanitation workers and police force'.
6. Download Arogya Setu app
  • To track the spread of the virus, download the Arogya Setu app & spread the word.
7. Follow advice
  • To strengthen your immunity, follow the advice of the AYUSH ministry.
