Real Heroes of India

Real Heroes of India

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi enjoyed the title of Mahatma Gandhi and unofficially ‘the father of nation’ on the footings made with the sacrifice of more than 7 lakhs people!

Real Heroes of India

Does anyone remember that Bhagat Singh’s birthday, 28th September is just 3 days before Gandhi ji’s birthday.

Bhagat Singh: Jailed, tortured and hanged.

Veer Savarkar: Jailed and tortured for life.

Subhash Chandra Bose: Thrown out of the country.

Lala Lajpat Rai: Beaten to death.

Chandra Shekhar Azad: Killed himself with single bullet left in his gun as he did not want to be killed by the British.

But our honorable ‘Bapu’ and ‘saint’ and ‘ChaCha Nehru’ (if you don’t know about their character and behavior towards their female followers, then kindly lookup on internet about both of them in this context)

Gandhi: Royal treatment in jail!

(He was Awarded highest civilian award by British twice for helping them.)

Nehru: Wrote books in jail!

And what do schools teach us….

‘Gandhi and Nehru brought freedom to India’

RIP Windows 7

Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 7. That means no more software updates, security fixes or patches, or technical support. It is dead, an ex-operating system if you will.

Image result for Windows 7 dead

Microsoft officially ends support to Windows 7 after a decade. The popular OS that continues to run on millions of devices globally. Meanwhile, Microsoft has also urged Windows 7 users to make an upgrade to Windows 10 to enjoy new features and continued support.

To encourage users to upgrade to the newer Windows 10 platform, Microsoft is offering a free year of post-retirement updates to Windows 7 customers with active Windows 10 subscriptions.

What does this mean?

  • Microsoft will no longer provide updates or security patches for the 11-year-old operating system, and the hundreds of millions of PCs still using it are vulnerable to attack. One-third of PCs around the world run Windows 7.

What must you do next?

1. Upgrade your existing equipment to Windows 10: To check if your computer will be able to run Windows 10, Microsoft has published a compatibility guide that will help you determine whether your specifications meet the minimums for the latest version of Windows. For example, your PC needs at least 32 GB of hard drive storage space, 1 GB of RAM and a processor with a clock speed of at least 1 GHz.

2. Buy a new computer/laptop: If your system does not support Windows 10, buy a new one.

3. If you don’t take any of the above-mentioned steps, here’s what you must know: Google Chrome said it will continue providing updates to browsers running on Windows 7 PCs until July 2021. So, while you may keep using Windows 7 till then, remember to keep updating your browser.

What to expect: Plenty of dew under lights. The Australians were busy practicing with wet balls a couple of days before the game. “There might be a 2 or 3% feeling that it might not be a big factor,” said Ashton Turner when asked about the dew, stressing that toss will play a big role. Meanwhile, according to Kohli, the presence of dew will be “an opportunity for teams to put themselves in uncomfortable positions or situations – with the ball in conditions where there’s dew or in the first innings with the bat. We want to do the difficult things and we’re looking forward to doing that rather than just focusing on what we can do well as a team.” Batting second will be the easier option but will Kohli choose that should he win the toss? – Source (Cricbuzz)

After the Finance Ministers tables the budget in the Parliament, it is also necessary to get the budget passed in both houses of Parliament before it can be implemented. In 2001, the then finance minister Yashwant Sinha broke the colonial practice of presenting the Budget in the evening and started the tradition of reading it out from 11 am. Indira Gandhi became the first woman finance minister to present India’s Budget in Parliament in 1970. 2019’s biggest health stories in India

2019’s biggest health stories

From a continued decline in infant and maternal mortality to inadequate funding for healthcare, from poor nutrition to an acute encephalitis syndrome outbreak, and from success in malaria prevention to below-par performance on leprosy control and tuberculosis elimination.

2019 Biggest Health Stories

Here’s a look at 2019’s biggest health stories:

Decrease in maternal mortality, infant mortality

  • India’s infant mortality rate–deaths per 1,000 live births–also fell from 42 in 2012 to 33 in 2017. However, India is still a long way from the Sustainable Development Goal for MMR: a target of 70 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2030. Three Indian states have already achieved this–Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Health budget increases, Ayushman Bharat completes a year

  • The Centre has been increasing its allocation to the health ministry, and this year’s budget of Rs 62,659 crore–2.25% of total expenditure–was the highest till date. Also By December 20, 2019, it had covered more than 6.9 million hospitalisations and issued more than 69.4 million e-cards.

Litchis, malnutrition, or heat and humidity?

  • In one of the worst outbreaks of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) in the state since 2014, 162 children died in Bihar (till July 2, 2019). There are several agents causing AES such as bacteria, fungi and viruses. The most common causes are Japanese encephalitis, Scrub typhus, dengue, measles and even Zika virus.

Malnutrition rampant in children, adolescents

  • One in three (35%) children younger than five years were stunted (low height for age) and underweight, one in six (17%) were wasted (low weight for height), and two in five (41%) were anemic, the first of its kind that gave nutritional status of children aged 5-14 years.

Does air pollution kill or not?

  • One in eight deaths in India was due to air pollution. In 2017, 1.24 million had died due to air pollution, and Indians could live 1.7 years longer if they breathed clean air.

India gets a National Medical Commission Bill

  • This is crucial because India’s current density of healthcare workforce–including doctors, nurses, midwives–per 10,000 population is 20.6 in 2016, compared to 22.8 recommended by the WHO. India would need 250,000 health workers to meet this requirement.

Success in malaria continues

  • India is among the 11 most malaria-affected countries in the world, accounting for 70% of cases globally. In 2018, India registered 2.6 million fewer malaria cases than in 2017. This was 51% fewer than in 2017 and 60% fewer than in 2016. Currently accounting for 3% of global malaria cases, India aims to eliminate the disease by 2030.
