India Women Vs New Zealand Women 1st ODI: Smriti Mandhana stars in India's 9-wkt win over New Zealand

Indian women cricket team's tour of New Zealand commences on January 24 and will comprise three One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals.

India Women tour of New Zealand 2019: India rode on opener Smriti Mandhana's fourth ODI ton and a disciplined bowling effort from the spin twins of Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav to outclass New Zealand by 9 wickets in the first ICC Women's Championship One-day International at the McLean Park here on 24th January 2019.

Smriti, the 2018 ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year, continued from where she left last year, as she belted a 104-ball 105, comprising nine fours and three sixes, and was engaged in a 190-run opening stand with teenager Jemimah Rodrigues (81 not out) to power the visitors home with 17 overs to spare.

The Indian spinners bowled well and took eight wickets between them, with Ekta Bisht (3/32) and Poonam Yadav (3/42) taking three wickets each, while Deepti ended with an economical 2/27.
This win was another fine show of dominance by the Indians and a perfect start under their new coach W.V. Raman.

2018 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List is out. Here’s how your favorite Bollywood icons are ranked based on their earning.

Entertainment News: Topping the Forbes India Celebrity 100 List seems to have become a habit for Salman Khan.

On the back of ₹253.25 crore earned through his film releases, television appearances and brand endorsements between October 1, 2017 & September 30, 2018, the 52-year-old bachelor actor became India’s highest-paid celebrity on the list for the third consecutive year.

Interestingly, on the second spot is not an actor but a cricketer. With Rs 228.09 crore earnings, it’s Virat Kohli.

Actor Akshay Kumar (₹185 crore) climbs up a spot to No 3.
Actor Deepika Padukone at No 4 (₹112.8 crore) is the highest-earning woman celebrity & also becomes the first woman to break into the top five positions.

At No. 5 in Mahendra Singh Dhoni with total earnings worth Rs 101.77 crore.

The usual suspects — Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Devgn follow next in the top 10 earners.

However, this year, only 18 women—including actors Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Nayanthara and ace shuttler PV Sindhu—have made it to the list. Last year, their number was 21.

Virushka Marriage : Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli are Married - See Wedding Pics & Videos

Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma got hitched in Italy earlier today. Last week, the Internet exploded with rumours that actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli had a hush-hush wedding in Italy planned.


The couple got married Monday in a luxury resort in Tuscany, Italy.

The Will-they and Won't-they rumour mill stopped churning on Monday evening after the Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma tweeted from Tuscany, Italy that they were finally hitched.


Anushka Sharma's makeup was light and minimal which added an elegant touch to the entire look. The ethereal couple tied the knot at a picturesque location and from what we could see from the latest pictures of the wedding, the two looked celestial in Sabyasachi ensembles. The actress was seen in an exquisite tailor-made creation from the designer's boutique, a pale pink lehenga with 'Renaissance embroidery' in vintage English colours embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads.


While the bridal jewellery was handcrafted with syndicate uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and baroque Japanese cultured pearls by the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection.
Whereas, captain of the Indian Cricket Team Virat wore an ivory raw silk sherwani, hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern and signature House buttons with an old Rose silk Kota safa with accessories by Sabyasachi.


The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals. Anushka walked down the aisle with Virat yesterday in Italy, in a private ceremony.

The wedding took place at a countryside resort named Borgo Finocchieto, one of the most expensive holiday properties in the world. The property is located in a small village called Bibbiano - having a population of less than 100 people. It is in the Tuscany region of Italy.


The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21 which will be followed by a reception for couple's Bollywood friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26.

Fastest & Quickest to score 8000 ODI runs: Virat Kohli

Indian captain Virat Kohli unbeaten knock of 96 against Bangladesh in the semifinals of the Champions Trophy on Thursday help him to became the fastest cricketer to score 8000 runs in ODIs.

India captain Virat Kohli has become the quickest batsman to 8000 runs in one-day international cricket, beating AB de Villiers mark by seven innings. Kohli crossed the 8000-run mark in his 175th innings while AB de Villiers took 182nd innings.

The unbeaten knock of Virat 96* & Rohit Sharma 123* helped India to register a comfortable win against Bangladesh in the semifinals of the Champions Trophy here.

This was Kohli's 42nd ODI half-century & Rohit Sharma 11th ODI century.

Kohli, who came into the match with 88 needed to score 8000 runs, to reach the milestone.
Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan also became India's highest run-getter in the Champions Trophy, surpassing Ganguly's haul of 665 runs.

He also became the first batsman to score 300+ runs in two different editions of ICC Champions Trophy -- 2013 and 2017 respectively.

Virat Kohli Only Indian in Forbes 2017 List of Highest-Paid Athletes

Cricket captain Virat Kohli is the sole sportsperson from India to feature among the world's 100 highest paid athletes in the latest Forbes list, topped by football star Cristiano Ronaldo


Kohli, 28, has been ranked 89th on the 2017 Forbes list of 'The World's highest paid athletes' with a total pay of USD 22 million that includes USD three million from salary and winnings, and another 19 million from endorsements.

Describing Kohli as the "Indian cricket phenom", Forbes said the sports star has "for good reason" already drawn comparisons to all-time great Sachin Tendulkar.



The list has been topped by Ronaldo with a total pay of 93 million dollars. American basketball star LeBron James comes in at the second spot with USD 86.2 million, followed by Argentine footballer Lionel Messi (3) with 80 million, tennis star Roger Federer (4) with 64 million and American basketball player Kevin Durant.

The list that features athletes from 21 countries and 11 sports had Serena Williams(51) as the lone female athlete with $27 million.
The earnings figures include salaries, prize money and bonuses earned between June 2016 and June 2017.
